The mission of the Josh Palmer Fund is simple: to financially and emotionally assist all local cancer patients and their families in their battle with cancer.  

The needs of cancer patients vary at the time they are being treated.  From the beginning we knew it wasn't the funds role to determine which specific "needs" we give money to.  Rather, we leave that up to the medical professionals handling patient care.  Over the years the fund has assisted patients in purchasing prescriptions when insurance wasn't enough or wasn't available, paid for expenses related to getting  to doctor appointments, and helped to maintain a person's basic needs while in treatment. 

Since the inception of the Fund over 12 years ago, the level of fund raising events have drastically increased to include a nationally recognized Coaches vs. Cancer high school basketball tournament, a highly anticipated golf tournament, solicitation of corporate and business donors, and sought-after corporate sponsorships.  

Through the efforts of family members, a giving community and friends close to the Josh Palmer Fund, we have completed our 12th year of  granting funds to local hospitals and cancer care centers.  Medical centers receiving awards include St. Joseph's Hospital Foundation and the Falck Cancer Center.  A portion of the proceeds from fund raising efforts go to the American Cancer Society. 

In addition to providing grants to local cancer treatment centers, the Josh Palmer Fund also awards four college scholarships to graduating seniors. [insert link to scholarship page]
 
Scholarships are awarded annually in the spring.
